Gun Violence

Global Impact of Gun Violence

Kofi Annan, UN Secretary-General, March 2000.

The death toll from small arms dwarfs that of all other weapons systems — and in most years greatly exceeds the toll of the atomic bombs that devastated Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In terms of the carnage they cause, small arms, indeed, could well be described as ‘weapons of mass destruction’.” —
Mr. Kofi Annan, writer of this article, IS so
terribly wrong, it is pitiful.
Small arms do NOT even
come close to what you tell.
Small arms could NOT be described
as "weapons of mass destruction.
In fact, citizens who are armed
stop many many murders! df

Small arms, commonly known as firearms or guns, are used to kill as many as 1,000 people each day. Millions more are wounded, or their lives upended when access to development aid, markets, health, education and human rights is disrupted by people with guns.
You must be including all the wars
going on (34) AND
the soldiers who are fighting with guns.
Then MAYBE you are  right.
But they are not
even close to the 1,000 per day
you mention!

There are more than 875 million firearms in the world, 75 per cent of them in the hands of civilians. Guns outnumber passenger vehicles by 253 million, or 29 per cent. Each year about eight million new small arms, plus 10 to 15 billion rounds of ammunition are manufactured — enough bullets to shoot every person in the world not once, but twice.  The authorized international trade in small arms and ammunition exceeds US$7.1 billion each year.
It is a good  thing, Mr. Annon,
that citizens have guns,
the more the better,
to protect themselves
against a tyrannical government
and the UN
which should be abolished before it becomes the NEW WORLD ORDER!

GunPolicy.org publishes evidence from hundreds of jurisdictions, allowing country-by-country comparisons of armed violence and firearm regulation around the world. These pages confirm that many, and probably most small arms are not misused, and that legitimate reasons exist for gun ownership. They also document the injury, death and suffering of gun violence, and show how all states monitor and control firearms to protect the citizen's right to safety, public health and human security. For more information on armed violence and gun control in each country and territory, please use the search tools in the left hand column.
There should be NO monitoring or control
of any citizen's firearms.
Guns do cause "violence",
 but armed citizens only
use them for three reasons;
1) hunting
2) target shooting
3) protecting themselves
from criminals,
the government,
both of our own,
 AND
other nations.
How would you like to live
in any muslim country today
without any protection,
a gun?
If you look up the statistics,
you will find that all other countries of the world have
strict gun control laws.
The US has much less. although our current government is trying very hard to do just that.
THEY MUST BE STOPPED!

Guess what?
The crime rate in the other countries,
 is far above
that in the US.
++++++++++++++++++++++
unarmed citizens = more crime = slavery;
armed citizens = less crime = freedom
